About Us
What Image to Text does, what it costs, what happens to your file and how to reach us.
A free tool for getting text out of pictures and documents
What it does
Our image to text converter reads the words in a picture or a document and gives them back as text you can copy, edit and search. It reads JPG, PNG, WEBP, TIFF and BMP images, PDFs, and Word and PowerPoint files, printed or handwritten, and it detects the language for you, so you never pick one.
What it costs
Every visitor gets 10 free pages of plain text a day, with or without an account, refilled every 24 hours. Formatted output (tables, lists and headings) costs 5 a page. You can upload up to 5 images at a time, up to 3 MB each. Paid plans add a bigger allowance: see pricing.
What happens to your file
To read the text, we send your file to our text-recognition service, which sends the text back. You can correct any misread characters, then copy the text or download it as a TXT, Markdown, CSV, Word, Excel or ZIP file. Those files are made in your browser. Our privacy policy explains where your file goes.
Who uses it
In the month to 10 October 2026 about 6,100 people used the tool, roughly 200 a day (Google Analytics).
